Cliff Avril also fined for shot on Jay Cutler Brad Biggs
Ndamukong Suh isn’t the only defensive lineman for the Detroit Lions lighter in the wallet after last Sunday’s meeting with the Chicago Bears.
Suh was fined $15,000 by the NFL for what looked like a forearm delivered to the back of quarterback Jay Cutler as he ran downfield. Now, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports that fellow Lions lineman Cliff Avril was also tagged with a $15,000 fine for roughing the passer. He unnecessarily struck Cutler in the face area.
Avril had a season-high three sacks in the game, giving him seven for the season. There’s no bonus for that, though, that will cover the fine.
