Just as his draft classmate Mikel Leshoure tries to figure out how he’s going to handle his latest marijuana bust, Nick Fairley has a pot case of his own on his hands.

Fairley, the first-round pick of the Detroit Lions last year, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Mobile, Ala., and charged with second-degree possession of marijuana, according to the Mobile Press-Register.

Per the report, Fairley was held at the jail on $1,000 bail. Fairley was busted after people in a subdivision of Mobile called after 12 p.m. to report of a car speeding through the neighborhood. Police located the vehicle, which was being driven by Fairley, and found him to be in possession of marijuana.

Fairley hails from Mobile and while his problems are there, Leshoure was arrested twice in less than a month for marijuana possession in Michigan. In his latest bust, police ordered him to stop eating the drug in an effort to conceal it.

The Lions were terribly undisciplined on the field last season and they’re proving to be just that off the field this offseason. Someone needs to grab control of the reins there a little bit. Offensive tackle Johnny Culbreath was arrested on marijuana charges in South Carolina in January. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was busted for speeding this offseason but not your normal speeding ticket. He was caught doing 91 mph in a 55 mph zone.
