Patriots place Sebastian Vollmer on injured reserve

Patriots right tackle Sebastian Vollmer’s season is over.

The New England Patriots made it official, placing offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer on injured reserve with a broken leg.

Vollmer will be replaced at right tackle by Marcus Cannon.

Vollmer had started every game this season.

Now, he's done for the season.

His roster spot goes to nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga, who was acquired in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles today in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick with the Patriots acquiring the Eagles' sixth-rounder.
