Rams add some beef, sign Robbins

The St. Louis Rams have signed free agent defensive tackle Fred Robbins, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.

Per Schefter, it’s a three-year deal that could be worth up to $12 million.

Robbins—a ten-year veteran out of Wake Forest—spent the last six years of his career with the New York Giants where he recorded 25 sacks in 78 starts.

Prior to joining Big Blue in 2004, Robbins played his first four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

According to Giants beat writer Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, the Giants never had any intention of re-signing the 32-year-old defensive tackle who started 12 games for New York in 2009.
