Report: Todd Haley to talk with Cardinals about possible return

Former Kansas City Chiefs coach Todd Haley will discuss a possible return to the Arizona Cardinals with Ken Whisenhunt.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that Whisenhunt is expected to visit with Haley about a potential position on his staff a month after the Chiefs fired Haley with one season remaining on his contract. Haley served as the offensive coordinator under Whisenhunt when the Cardinals reached the Super Bowl in 2008.

Arizona’s quarterback situation has been unsettled since the retirement of Kurt Warner. Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is known to be a big supporter of Haley. It remains to be seen what other possibilities could be in play for Haley. He has ties to the New York Jets and it’s possible they would seek him out if offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer somehow departs. That hasn’t happened yet.
