The New Orleans Saints have signed veteran wide receiver Robert Meachem to a one-year contract.

Meachem was drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft out of Tennessee.

For his career, the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder has caught 171 passes for 2,800 yards with 27 touchdowns.

Meachem caught 16 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns last season for the Saints in five starts and 15 games. He had three catches for 109 yards in two playoff games.
