Source: Chris Clemons visiting Lions

Former Miami Dolphins free agent safety Chris Clemons is visiting the Detroit Lions today, according to a league source.

The 6-foot-1, 214-pounder had 93 tackles and one interception last season for the Dolphins.

A former Clemson standout, Clemons has 278 career tackles, 17 pass deflections, four interceptions and two forced fumbles.

The 28-year-old has played five seasons for the Dolphins.

The Lions had in former Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl free safety Thomas DeCoud for a visit today, but no deal was immediately reached as he completed his visit.

The Lions had in former Baltimore Ravens free safety James Ihedigbo for a visit last week.
