Source: Willie Jefferson to visit Jaguars

Former Houston Texans outside linebacker Willie Jefferson is set to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to a league source.

Jefferson is a 6-foot-5, 241-pound rookie who was dismissed from the team for violating team rules.

He was released along with defensive end Sam Montgomery, who visited the Cincinnati Bengals last week, and running back Cierre Wood

“I won’t discuss team rules,” Texans coach Gary Kubiak said.

According to ESPN, the rookies were using marijuana.

Jefferson's agent told ESPN the players were smoking a cigar and that no illegal drugs were used.

The rookies violated team rules at the team hotel Saturday night in Kansas City and were sent home and deactivated, according to the Houston Chronicle.

“I feel like they wasted a big opportunity,” outside linebacker Brooks Reed said. “I’m sure they’re realizing it right now. It’s crazy and unfortunate because they had a great opportunity here to be successful. They just didn’t get it. I don’t understand why someone would do that to themselves.”
