The Kansas City Chiefs have brokered an injury settlement with veteran tight end Tony Moeaki and are waiving him from injured reserve, according to league sources.

Moeaki is subject to waivers.

Moeaki fractured his scapula during the preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers and is expected to be ready by the 11th week of the regular season. The injury was regarded as a clean fracture and there was no displacement of the shoulder, which should allow him to return to play soon.

Moeaki had entered training camp healthy and the former Iowa standout could be a good target for teams when he's ready to return from his injury.

Since entering the NFL in 2010, Moeaki has undergone knee operations and sustained head injuries.

Moeaki caught 47 passes for 556 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie.

Last season, Moeaki caught 33 passes for 453 yards and a touchdown.
