Suspension over for Incognito, free agency next
The Miami Dolphins have officially ended their suspension of offensive guard Richie Incognito for conduct detrimental to the team.
Now that he's no longer on the suspended list, Incognito won't be rejoining the Dolphins.
It was strictly a procedural transaction.
It clears the path, though, for the pending unrestricted free agent to join a new team when free agency begins in March.
Incognito will never play for the Dolphins again after allegedly bullying teammate Jonathan Martin even though text messages betwen the two paint a portrait of two friends who are extremely politically incorrect, into partying, hookers, drinking and drugs.
"I would to thank my family and friends for their continued love and support," Incognito wrote on Twitter. "It's official #FREE #BIRD #FREEINCOGNITO @NFL @NFLPA"
