Rex Ryan maintains that Mark Sanchez is still the New York Jets starting quarterback and gives the team its best chance to win.
But, the coach of the floundering Jets admits that it may be time to expand Tim Tebow's role with the team beyond just a handful of snaps.
"I think Mark gives us the best chance to win, that's how I feel," Ryan said via ESPN.com. "Can Tim be successful? Yeah, absolutely, and we need to take a look at that as well. But in my opinion, Mark as the starting quarterback gives my football team the best chance to win."
Ryan did say the Jets need to get Tebow more involved in the offense, though.
"I definitely think that's a fair statement," he said. "I think we'll take a hard look at how we're using him, what we're asking him to do and if there are other things we can ask him to do with him. You're absolutely right, we'll definitely look at that."
