Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has been assigned a Dec. 27 court date for his driving under the influence case in Alameda County, California.

Lynch's lawyer, Ivan Golde, told ESPN that a judge denied a motion to suppress evidence and dismiss the case. Golde said he'll seek a continuance to push the trial after the season.

The case stems from allegations of driving under the influence on July 14, 2012 when he was arrested.

Lynch submitted to a breathalyzer test, which came back positive with his blood alcohol content over the state's legal limit of 0.08, according to police.
