Vikings have just one more season in Metrodome

The Minnesota Vikings will bid goodbye to the Hubert H. Humphery Metrodome after the 2013 season.

That means Vikings fans can look forward to <a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=nfl&id=8951995" target="_blank">two seasons of home games at TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota while their new stadium is constructed.

The Vikings plan to play in the college stadium in 2014 and 2015 while their new home is built. They have already played their once, moving a home game against the Chicago Bears to the campus in 2010 after a snow and ice storm destroyed the roof of the Metrodome.

The campus stadium is about 10 minutes from the Metrodome and the Vikings had hoped to only have to shift there for one season, according to the Associated Press. The target right now is to destrout the Metrodome a year from now in February 2014. The goal is to have the new facility ready by July 1, 2016, leaving just a little bit of wiggle room for it to be ready to host preseason games for that season.
