The Kansas City Chiefs have signed fullback Anthony Sherman to a contract extension.

“It was important for us to keep Anthony here in Kansas City,” Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said. “He brings a lot to our football team with not only his play, but his work ethic, leadership and character. He doesn’t get a lot of recognition at his position, but he has been a key component to our success as a team.”

Sherman has started 21 of 51 games played in four NFL seasons, rushing for 14 yards and catching 36 passes for 315 yards and two touchdowns.

He blocks for All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles, the Chiefs' all-time leading rusher.
