If the New York Jets had started Michael Vick at quarterback earlier this season ahead of Geno Smith, perhaps they would have won more games.
That's what running back Chris Johnson believes.
"Yeah, I think so. I think if he was starting from Day One it would be totally different,” Johnson said. “He came in and his role was to help Geno develop and try to help him the best he can, but at the end of the day it turned out how it turned out and (we've) just got to live with it.”
Smith passed for 10 interceptions and seven touchdowns with a 65.6 quarterback rating.
Vick is now quarterbacking the 2-8 Jets.
Vick agrees with Johnson.
"In my heart, yes," Vick said. "Yeah, I mean, to sit here and say no would show a lack of confidence in myself and my teammates. But absolutely, I think if I was starting from Day One, then maybe it would've been an opportunity. But that wasn't the case. I wasn't put in that situation. The team wasn't put in that situation."
