LSU offers a scholarship to a soon-to-be 8th grader

We always knew college football recruiting was a crazy business, but this story is borderline ridiculous.

Dylan Moses, who last week impressed at an LSU football camp by recording an impressive 4.46 40-yard dash, earned a scholarship offer from Tigers head coach Les Miles and his staff, according to David Helman of's GeauxTigerNation.

The catch? Moses has yet to start eighth grade.

The Class of 2017 prospect, who has always dreamed of playing for LSU, wasn't the only one surprised by the offer. His father was as well, believing that the staff was merely joking around at first.

Of course, Moses can't officially sign with LSU for another five years. But the 6-foot, 208-pound middle schooler made such an impression — he impressed with his broad jump and vertical leap numbers as well — that he was already given an opportunity for a future scholarship.

It's quite the feat considering that Moses won't even be old enough to play varsity this fall at LSU Laboratory School, located on the school's campus. He will instead play eighth grade football.
