It could be Gabbert time in Jacksonville

The Cam Newton Era is off to a flying start in Carolina with a pair of 400-yard passing games.

The Andy Dalton Era has already produced a victory (with a big assist from Bruce Gradkowski) in Cincinnati.

MIght Blaine Gabbert be the next quarterback from the Class of 2011 to ascend to the top of the depth chart for his team? Gabbert came in in mop-up duty for the Jacksonville Jaguars and completed 5 of 6 passes in a 32-3 blowout loss to the New York Jets.

That came on the heels of Luke McCown's struggles as he was intercepted four times on Sunday.

As the Jacksonviille Times-Union points out, Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio refused to name his starting quarterback for next week's game when Jacksonville will, in a bit of irony, face Newton and the Carolina Panthers.
