Lions ready for some more prime-time action

It had been a decade since the Detroit Lions played on “Monday Night Football” before they returned to the spotlight last month against the Chicago Bears.

Now, they’re ready for more prime-time action. The NFL has flexed the Dec. 4 Lions-Saints game at the Superdome into prime time. The game has been moved into the NBC slot on Sunday night. The league pulled the Colts-Patriots matchup from the start time because Indianapolis has been wretched without quarterback Peyton Manning.

This will be the first appearance on NBC’s version of Sunday night football for the Lions. The last time Detroit played on a Sunday night was at Green Bay in 2005.
