Veteran defensive tackle Shaun Smith has reunited with Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel, his coach with the Cleveland Browns.
Smith announced the deal on his Twitter account.
"It’s a officiical am a Kansas city chief," Smith wrote.
Smith wasn't tendered by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Smith is a well-traveled defensive lineman, playing for three teams in six seasons.
Smith has collaborated successfuly with Crennel before.
Three years ago, he registered 67 tackles and two sacks for the Browns.
UPDATE: It's official. The Chiefs have confirmed that Smith has signed. It's a one-year deal.
