The Cleveland Browns auditioned veteran defensive end Jarvis Green this week, according to a league sorce with knowledge of the situation.
This is the second time Green has worked out for the Browns this season.
Green was cut by the Denver Broncos during their final major roster cutdown after being signed to a three-year, $16 million free agent deal in March.
Green had previously played for the New England Patriots, which is his connection to Browns coach Eric Mangini.
The Browns also tried out wide receivers Yamon Figurs (Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens) and Demetrius Williams (Ravens), opting to sign Figurs because of his kick return ability and Josh Cribbs' health.
The Browns also tried out offensive guard Paul McQuistin, whom they signed. And they tried out defensive tackles Scott Paxson and Orien Harris, whom they didn't.
