Florida State safety Myron Rolle had a strong Pro Day workout today in Orlando, Fla.

With several NFL scouts in attendance, the Rhodes scholar improved on his performance from the NFL scouting combine.

Rolle ran the 40-yard dash in 4.54 seconds, according to a league source who attended the workout at ESPN's Wide World of Sports complex.

He registered a 6.47 in the three-cone drill. He turned in a 4.08 in the short shuttle.

The New York Giants orchestrated the workout.

At the scouting combine, Rolle ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds with a 36-inch vertical leap and 21 repetitions of 225 pounds in the bench press test. His slowest hand times at the combine were in the 4.72 to mid 4.7 range.

He also posted a 10-04 broad jump.

Rolle spent this past season at Oxford for his Rhodes scholarship instead of playing his senior year with the Seminoles.

In three seasons, he recorded 206 tackles, 12 pass deflections and one interception.

At a sturdy 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, Rolle is regarded as more of an enforcer type of strong safety most adept at attacking the line of scrimmage and delivering hits to receivers who go across the middle.
