Oregon State strongman defensive tackle Stephen Paea is scheduled to visit the Philadelphia Eagles next week, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
Paea proved to NFL scouts that he has made a sound recovery from a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee suffered during the Senior Bowl.
The required surgery to repair the damage.
During his campus Pro Day workout Thursday, Paea ran the 40-yard dash in 5.15 seconds and registered a 31-inch vertical leap.
The 6-foot-1, 300-pounder set an NFL scouting combine bench press record with 49 repetitions of 225 pounds.
A former rugby player who moved to the United States as a teenager, Paea won the Morris Trophy as the top lineman in the Pac-10 Conference over the past two years.
As a junior, he posted 43 tackles, 5 1/2 for losses, three sacks and four forced fumbles.
Last season, the consensus All-American posted 45 tackles, 10 for losses, six sacks and four forced fumbles to post a school record nine forced fumbles for his career.
For his career, he posted 129 tackles and 14 sacks.
Paea has squatted 600 pounds and bench pressed 500 pounds.
