After his extremely public display of support for murder suspect and former college teammate Aaron Hernandez where he and his twin brother, Maurkice Pouncey, wore baseball caps that said "Free Hernandez," Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey declined to apologize.

Pouncey was somewhat contrite in his tone, but didn't want to discuss the controversy created when he and his brother, the Pittsburgh Steelers' starting center, wore the caps and were photographed at a recent birthday party.

Maurkice Pouncey wrote on Twitter that he understands just how serious the Hernandez case is and expressed regret for joking around.

"I'm just here to focus on football," Pouncey said. "We get paid a lot of money to act a certain way, and that's the way we should be acting."

What does Dolphins coach Joe Philbin think about the cap flap?

"I will tell you that it's important for every member of this organization, player, coach, to represent the Miami Dolphins in a first-class manner," Philbin said.
